The Malta Football Association's REACH OUT Promo Campaign in relation to the UEFA European Under 17 Championship Finals held in Malta last May, has won the UEFA 2014 Marketing Award for the Best Fan Experiential Promotional Campaign category.  UEFA announced the winners of the 2014 Marketing Awards late this evening. The European confederation’s initiative was set in motion early this year and was aimed at incentivising marketing initiatives by associations. Early in September the marketing department of the Malta Football Association submitted a document and a video documentary on its ‘Reach Out Campaign’ for the UEFA Under-17 Championships 2014 held in Malta during May.    The document and video planned by the head of the association's marketing department included different aspects of our association’s strategy to put up best possible promotion for the UEFA youth championships matches played at Ta’ Qali National Stadium, Hibernians Stadium and Gozo Stadium and thus attract different categories of our population to these stadia. Basing its approach on modern promotional concepts the MFA marketing department forwarded its submissions for the UEFA KISS Marketing awards on different promotional ideas. MFA also made a second submission related to the involvement of members of the Special Olympics Team during the same finals for the Best Grassroots Campaign category. MFA's Joe Cassar, Deputy General Secretary and Norman Saliba, Head of MFA's Marketing Department received the award o.b.o. of the association. In his address to the audience Norman Saliba said "We believe that managing to mobilise amounts equivalent to 10% of the country's population, in eleven days to come and watch football, is a remarkable achievement. However this would not have been possible had it not been for the MFA's top management to buy the idea presented to them by the Marketing Department, the commitment of the Organising Committee of these finals, ably led by the association's Gen. Secretary Bjorn Vassallo and Tournament Director, J. Cassar to implement this plan, the collaboration of work colleagues at MFA as well as that of  the volunteers, UEFA itself, who believed in our project, and last but not least all those who accepted our invitation and participated in this campaign, REACH OUT would not have been the success that was" Norman Saliba concluded by saying that "Yes, football can really bring people together" CLICK HERE to watch the Video Documentary on MFA's YouTube Channel SUBSCRIBE to MFA's FanZone Pages to be able to access exclusive content in the near future.
