On Wednesday 08 October 2014 at UEFA Centre in Nyon, Switzerland, Elite Referee Trustin Farrugia Cann and Elite Assistant Referees Jurgen Spiteri and David Castillo, were awarded diplomas for successfully completing their UEFA CORE (Centre of Refereeing Excellence). All three officials attended the Introductory Course from 18 to 27 March 2014, and since then have been closely monitored by referees’ coach Rune Pedersen (Norway), assistant referees’ coach Goggen Holen (Norway), and physical fitness coaches Simon Breivik (England) and Herbert Barr (Northern Ireland). Trustin Farrugia Cann, Jurgen Spiteri u David Castillo’s participation during the Consolidation Course held from 02 to 09 October 2014 confirmed the technical and physical progress they achieved over the past six months.  Their approach was of a professional level and UEFA’s report on their participation during this educational programme indicates clearly that the three officials possess the necessary talent to progress in their careers. As part of the course, on Saturday 04 October 2014 they had the opportunity to control the 4th Division French League match D’Echirolles vs Aix FC (0-0) in Grenoble.
