European Women’s U/19 Championships 2015Qualifying Round – Group 7 – Bosnia HerzegovinaVenue: Otoka Stadium An excellently played match where the Women U/19 NT played their heart out against a much physically stronger team where they never gave their opponents a chance to settle down. In a very disciplined manner, the girls in white and red defended well and even found chance to put in some attacks.  In the 23’ Raina Giusti found herself facing the Romanian GK only to be foiled by the same GK and in the 63’ the same player hit the side netting after defeating the offside trap when receiving  a pass from Claudette Xuereb.  Romania had two great chances from free kicks in which Rachel Borg distinguished herself with two great saves that saved the day. Rachel was also in her best and intercepted several crosses by the Romanian forwards. It was a memorable afternoon for our girls who although playing against a much tougher opponent who had the run of play never threw the towel and at the end took a well deserved draw and point from the whole encounter.   Malta's formation was:1. Rachel Borg, 9. Darya Attard, 3. Charlene Cassia, 4. Emily Pace, 5. Jade Flask, 6. Alichia Sultana, 7. Martina Borg, 8. Claudette Xuereb, 17. Brenda Borg (Capt), 11. Shona Zammit, 13.
