At the Maksimir Stadion in Zagreb this morning the national team had an early session of training at 10hrs with Pietro Ghedin, Ray Farrugia and physical trainer Mark Buttigieg. Andrew Cohen returned back to training today whilst Jonathan Caruana stopped before the training session ended and is still being checked out by the medical staff. Pietro Ghedin, Andre Schembri and Rowen Muscat proceeded to the press conference with interesting questions and eager comments about the qualification match. Ghedin emphasized that Croatia are a very good team and that the technical staff saw a lot of videos about them. He said we will give our very best against them and after these past days at the Senec Sports Complex the team had a lot of training, and he feels more confident after the friendly match against Slovakia. Together with Italy, Croatia should be the team to qualify from this group and fight till the end for the first placing. Andre Schembri had words of praise about the Croatian players who are part of the very best teams in Europe. He continued "we will work together on our tactical discipline, we will make it difficult for our opponent and we will see how the match proceeds." Rowen Muscat said "I am feeling confident about myself and prepared for this match because after the match against Slovakia together we brushed up some tactical errors and defensively the team worked really well and after that match me and my friends feel very confident that we will get a good performance and gain some respect." Malta plays Croatia on Tuesday 9th September at the Stadion Maksimir in Zagreb with the second match of Group H kicking off at 20:45 Hrs. The match will be shown live on TVM 2.
