From Monday 2nd to Thursday 5th June 2014a group of administrators and coaches from  Georgia, Liechtenstein and Gibraltar attended for a UEFA Study Group organised by the MFA Technical Centre with help from UEFA.  The theme of the Study Group was Grassroots Football. Apart from sharing their Grassroots activity programmes with each other and with their Maltese counterparts the visitors were shown around the Technical Centre facilities, the Sliema Nursery Complex and the National School of Sports at Kirkop. In all, they also followed practical sessions conducted by Girls National Team coaches, Sliema coaches and National School of Sport teachers. The Study Group was opened by the MFA President Mr. Norman Darmanin Demajo who after welcoming all participants explained the good work and practice the MFA have embarked on in these last years especially by reaching the target of having all our grounds in synthetic turf for all our children to develop further their football talents. At the end of the Study Group, participants were awarded certificates, supplied by UEFA, by the Technical Director Mr. Robert Gatt. This Study Group proved to be a great success as expressed by all the visitors who showed a lot of interest at what the Technical Centre is performing for the development of Grassroots Football on the island. This concludes the series of UEFA Study Groups for this season  in which more than 30 coaches and Administrators visited Turkey, Scotland and Switzerland participating in Study Groups with themes on Elite Youth Football, Grassroots Football and Coach Education.
