England, Netherlands, Portugal through to Semis, while Scotland surprise Germany

England, the Netherlands and Portugal booked their place for Sunday's Semi Finals while title contenders Germany were surprisingly beaten by Scotland. This all happened on Match Day 2 of the UEFA European Under 17 Championships being held in Malta. In Group A England and Holland qualified for the semis after beating Turkey 4-1 and Malta 5-2 respectively. While in Group B Portugal beat Switzerland 1-0 to secure their second successive win. Things are however not looking so bright for the German team who were surprisingly beaten by Scotland at the Hibernians Stadium on Monday, after they had only managed a 1-1 against Switzerland in their opening match. This result leaves the race for the second qualification spot wide open and all three teams are still in with a chance, however the Germans must improve on their firepower up front in order to make it.
