On Thursday 24th April 2014 The Technical Centre launched a new UEFA Coaching course: The UEFA Elite Youth A Diploma. The Coach Education Department has been given the go ahead by UEFA Jira Panel to organise this course after a rigorous inspection of the curriculum prepared by the Centre.  The first course of its’ kind will be spread over four modules of 20 hours each to be held during the month of May on a par with the UEFA U/17 Champioships which will serve as an ideal backdrop for course content. Seventeen participants are sitting for the course, some coming from the MFA Technical Staff,  others from senior clubs and the nurseries. Mr. Nico Romejn, of the Dutch Federation, a UEFA Jira Panel member, will be visiting at some time during the course to monitor the whole procedure. Apart from the topics programmed for the first day, the course included also a Skype session with Mr. Packie Bonner, ex Republic of Ireland International Goalkeeper and at present a UEFA instructor. This is another important step in the Technical Centre’s efforts to upgrade the level of our coaches and create a synergy of good practices in all our clubs. Participants in this course are Wayne Attard, Ludvic Bartolo, Claude Chetcuti, Kenneth Costantino, Anthony Cremona, Anthony Dalli, Anthony Garzia, Godfrey Grima, Joseph Mallia, Josef Mansueto, Mark Marlow, Peter Pullicino, Twanny Rocco, Frank Schembri, Carmel Sciberras, Silvio Vella, and Paul Zammit.
