Background to the Malta Football Association:

Mission Statement: To organise, promote and protect the game of football in Malta and Gozo with respect to the laws of the game and without discrimination on grounds of race, colour or creed.

What does the role entail?

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team as Secretary to the Judicial Boards. This is a part-time position compensated on an hourly rate, offering an exciting opportunity for those with both legal and football experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Board by handling administrative duties, managing communication, and maintaining compliance with legal and football-related regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, distribute, and manage Board meeting agendas, minutes, and associated documents.
  • Maintain Board records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Liaise between Board members, stakeholders, and external parties.
  • Provide administrative support to the Board Chair and other members.
  • Ensure adherence to legal and football governance requirements.
  • Organize meetings, including scheduling and follow-ups.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

Qualifications:

  • A legal background (law degree, paralegal experience, or similar).
  • Knowledge of football governance and regulations.
  • Experience in administrative roles, ideally in a board setting.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience supporting a Board or senior management team.
