The Malta Football Association is seeking to employ a Public Announcer to work on a casual basis in the Football Operations Department. The selected candidate will form part of the Match Operations Venue Team and shall be reporting to the Director Football Operations.

Key Objectives of the Role

To provide an appropriate service to supporters, VIPs, corporate guests, players, technical staff, match officials, media and other matchday personnel by following the standards set out by the Malta Football Association in a most professional and dedicated manner.  The role of the Public Announcer is pivotal in ensuring that the overall matchday experience is one to remember, providing excellent levels of customer service, whilst ensuring the safety of all who attend the stadium.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acts as a public announcer at the stadium throughout the whole match, including pre-match and post-match.
  • Feeds all information to the spectators as specified in the job description.
  • Gives instructions on the stadium PA in case of any emergencies or serious incidents.
  • Manages the scoreboard of the stadium.
  • Provides all necessary data on the stadium scoreboard.
  • Prepares the scoreboard and public announcing equipment, and sees that their functionalities are tested.
  • Follows instructions provided by the Venue Director, the Police Commander, and the Director Football Operations.

Skills, Competencies and Requirements

  • Good communication skills
  • A strong voice
  • Previous experience in public announcing or working in media
  • Excellent customer service abilities
  • Available to work regularly during weekends
  • A minimum secondary level of education
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Fluent in Maltese and English
