Commercial Manager

The Commercial Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the Association’s commercial strategy with the objective of maximising revenue, strengthening partnerships, and enhancing the commercial value of national teams, competitions, and football development programmes.

The role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, managing sponsorships and commercial partnerships, and creating innovative revenue streams that support the long-term sustainability and growth of football within the country.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy

  • Develop and implement the Association’s commercial strategy aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities, including sponsorships, partnerships, licensing, and commercial collaborations.
  • Maximise the commercial value of national teams, domestic competitions, and football development programmes.
  • Monitor industry trends and benchmark against international football organisations and sports properties.

Sponsorship & Partnerships

  • Identify, negotiate, and secure commercial partnerships and sponsorship agreements.
  • Manage relationships with existing sponsors and partners, ensuring the delivery of contractual rights and benefits.
  • Develop tailored sponsorship packages and partnership opportunities across competitions, events, and digital platforms.
  • Work closely with partners to create mutually beneficial activation campaigns.

Revenue Development

  • Explore opportunities to increase revenue through events, hospitality, licensing, and merchandising initiatives.
  • Support the development of digital commercial opportunities, including branded content and online campaigns.
  • Identify opportunities for fundraising and sponsorships supporting grassroots and youth football initiatives.

Commercial Rights Management

  • Manage the Association’s commercial inventory, including branding, advertising space, and promotional rights.
  • Ensure sponsors receive agreed visibility, marketing exposure, and engagement opportunities.
  • Coordinate the implementation of commercial activities during matches, tournaments, and Association events.

Collaboration & Internal Coordination

  • Work closely with the communications, competitions, and events teams to ensure effective delivery of commercial programmes.
  • Coordinate with media and digital teams to maximise sponsor visibility across broadcast and online platforms.
  • Support leadership in negotiations with strategic partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • First Degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent
  • Proven experience in commercial partnerships, sponsorship sales, or sports marketing.
  • Proven track record in developing and securing sponsorship agreements.
  • Experience working within sports organisations, events, or marketing agencies is considered an asset.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
