The Malta squad arrived in the quaint Austrian village of Bad-Tatzmannsdorf on Sunday morning ahead of their friendly international match against Ukraine on Tuesday at the Mercur Arena in Graz (kick-off 19.00). Coach Pietro Ghedin has brought a squad of 20 players for the warm-up and the subsequent 2018 World Cup Group F qualifier against Slovenia on June 10 in Ljubljana. It rained constantly as Malta had their first training session on Sunday evening. Their practice session on Monday evening will be at the Mercur Arena. St Andrews midfielder Dale Camilleri has been called up to the squad as a replacement for Balzan midfielder Paul Fenech who was suffering from a bout of gastric flu. English-born defender Sam Magri is expected to join the Malta squad in the coming hours after getting married on Saturday.
