Sunday's game was an emotional rollercoaster for the Maltese team and fans. A goal down after just 98 seconds, scored by Vladimir Weiss, the Maltese boys rallied to equalise thanks to Jean Paul Farrugia but Slovakia midfielder Jan Gregus's goal just before half-time, was a hammer blow for our team. The dismissal of Farrugia in the closing stages all but ended our hopes with Slovakia adding a third late on through Adam Nemec who spoiled his night with a red card on the stroke of time.
