After the unfortunate loss to Georgia on Wednesday evening the national team is looking forward to redeem itself in Baku, for the qualificaiotn match against Azerbaijan this Saturday. The team yesterday had a recovery session with seven players staying at the hotel whilst the rest of the team went to the Neftchi Baku PFC training stadium where training started at around 17:00 Hrs. Alfred Effiong  was interviewed by Times of Malta today and whilst he showed his satisfaction about his debut he said "I would have been more happy if we won (against Georgia) and I had scored on my debut but in all the team gave its best and we are now looking forward to Saturday's match to get a positive result." He went on to say "Malta is a home for me and I feel proud to play for this country. If the  coach gives me the opportunity to play I will be ready". The trip yesterday morning was not as arduous as the one towards Georgia but with the visa processing and the traffic congestion in the city centre prolonged unnecessary the voyage to the hotel. Tomorrow the team has its official training at the Tofiq Bəhramov Adına Respublika stadium and the press conference just after. Malta plays away at Azerbiajan on tomorrow 28th March at 21:00Hrs local time in Baku. The match will be shown live on TVM2.
