The first Malta FA Integrity Tour in 2014 was held during January and February. The visits were to all the Premier and First Division clubs and also included two sessions for match officials. A total of over 1200 participants including players, club administrators and officials attended the Integrity Tour sessions. The Tour is now also being adopted by other Associations in Europe. The Tour was successful as it tackled the problem that football  is facing in an educational way. The Malta FA’s aim is to create awareness and assist football stakeholders in understanding their role in the very protection and survival of the game. Players are guided through the sessions, shown how to stay away from the temptations that they might face and how they can be in a position to protect football. The interest shown during the Tour has encouraged the Malta FA  Integrity Officer, Franz Tabone, to expand this activity to all the Second and Third Division clubs. Representatives from these clubs had also expressed their wish to be part of the Integrity Tours. The second phase of the Integrity Tour has now just started and will go on for the next few weeks. At the end all member clubs would have participated in this very important event bound to leave its effect on a number of individuals.  Now the Malta FA’s aim is to spread its coverage even further with match-fixing awareness and educational sessions being planned to take place at schools and youth organisations.
