UEFA Study Group in Switzerland – Coach Education

Last week, from the 7th to the 10th April,  a group of 11 coaching instructors, mentors and administrators travelled to Switzerland to take part in another UEFA study Group with Coach Education as the main topic of discussion. They were joined by other participants from Wales and Northern Ireland.  The study group consisted of theoretical presentations about good practices and coaching structures in Coach Education conducted by the Swiss FA. Head of Coaching Department, Mr. Yves Debonnaire and Regional Technical Director, Pablo Iglesias.  Wales, North Ireland and Malta had also their chance to present their good practices in the area and share amongst them experiences and discuss the way forward in Coach Education for all four countries. The groups were shown round the Swiss National Sports Center in Macolin and followed practical sessions with regards to UEFA A & B courses run by the Swiss FA. The experience gathered by our participants continues to stimulate the good work being done in this area by our Technical Centre. The whole visit ended with a visit to the old city of Berne.
